Parnell is one of Aucklands oldest surburbs, established in 1841 it has a great mix of rich history with modern urbanity. Parnell Road and Parnell Rise make up the main road and here you will find charming shops, jewellers, boutique fashion, the public library and many awarding winning cafes, bars and restaurants. Parnell Village is very rich in arts and culture - it has the largest number of art galleries on one street in Auckland and hosts a range of landmark sculptures. The suburb is centred around the actual mountain volconic cone - a dormant volcano which is the highest natural point in Auckland, providing 360 degree views of Auckland city. It is a pleasant walk up the hill - or run for those fitness enthusiasts.
Mt Eden Village has a unique character and selection of coffee spots, shops and restaurants. Eden Park perhaps the suburb's the most famous resident is New Zealand's largest stadium, hosting many NZ Cricket and Rugby games plus the Rugby League 9's.. Public transport is good with buses running frequently to the inner city and surrounding areas.
